Job Description

The Trust team provides solutions and tooling to foster trust in our users when they interact with each other inside our marketplaces, as well as giving them accurate and useful information about each other, so they can make better choices while transacting.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help and support the acceleration of the consumption of data using and providing the best practices around processing and exploiting data while keeping users’ privacy and data security in mind. You will also have the opportunity to learn from and share knowledge with Data Analysts, Scientists and Engineers across Adevinta. We encourage a diverse, collaborative and creative work environment, where you will develop and push for the state-of-the-art in big data processing while also at the same time as building reliable and highly scalable services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evolve, orchestrate and maintain pipelines that build curated datasets for the Trust, Accounts, Traffic, and Content domains.

  • Support the design and implementation of engineering architectures for data analytics.

  • Support the processes required to train our Machine learning models.

  • Work with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to understand their needs and provide solutions to solve them.

  • Develop comprehensive data capture, transformation, and visualisations.

  • Ensure that quality standards and data governance are being achieved.

  • Stay updated with the global data capabilities, tools, governance and guidelines of the company.

Qualifications

  • A BSc degree in Computer Science (or equivalent job experience).

  • Strong analytical / problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with batch and streaming data processing tools (Spark, Kafka, Kafka Streams, Argo, Airflow, Kubernetes, etc) and Machine learning processes (Kubeflow, MLflow, etc).

  • Experience with “big data” NoSQL databases design and optimization (S3, Hive, Redshift, Cassandra, etc.), AWS or any other cloud platform; SOLID, TDD.

  • Proven ability and experience developing highly structured, readable code, and interest in learning more.

  • Previous experience working with Agile methodologies.

  • Experience with AWS or any other cloud platform.

  • Good written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills; technical and business level English is a must.
